Carbon emissions from the use of fossil fuels such as coal, oil and natural gas in Europe fell 10 percent in 2020 compared to the previous year.

     Carbon emissions from the use of fossil fuels fell across Europe in 2020, according to data compiled by Eurostat. The restriction of travel and the occasional cessation of production in factories due to the Covid-19 outbreak were effective in the reduction of carbon emissions. In 2020, carbon emissions from the use of fossil fuels such as coal, oil and natural gas in Europe fell 10 percent compared to 2019.
